The catastrophic 2021 atmospheric river destroyed the original crossing at Tank Hill, cutting off a vital supply chain link on Highway 1 and requiring an urgent, permanent replacement in unstable terrain. Rapid-Span and Canam fabricated the high-precision structural steel girders for the new 144-meter-long bridge, utilizing streamlined manufacturing to meet an aggressive reconstruction schedule. This critical project restored a primary provincial artery, providing a resilient crossing designed to withstand future extreme weather events and ensure regional economic stability.
