Tappen Overhead Bridge

Replacing the aging Tappen Overhead required a modern four-lane solution to eliminate a major bottleneck and hazardous railway crossing on the Trans-Canada Highway. Rapid-Span fabricated high-precision structural steel girders, engineered to meet stringent seismic standards and the widened highway’s footprint. Our streamlined manufacturing ensured these massive components integrated seamlessly with the complex rail-over-bridge design. This project significantly improves traveler safety, enhances provincial trade flow, and supports the long-term expansion of British Columbia’s primary transportation corridor.
