Design / build
Design Model
With Rapid-Span’s expert engineering and detailing team, steel fabrication and precast manufacturing plants, and diverse experience, we can help from design to completion of simple pedestrian bridges to multi-million dollar highway projects. We can either manufacture bridge components based on your design requirements or work with you as part of your design-build team.
We can assist from the start of the planning and design phase and work with the team to offer guidance regarding the choice of materials, dimensions of primary components, connection details, shipping methods, etc. This multidisciplinary team approach fosters an environment that is conducive to design innovations and optimization as all aspects of the project execution process are taken into consideration.

Steel Fabrication
At Rapid-Span we take pride in our reputation for producing structural steel products which are consistently superior in quality and fit. Our experienced team of steel fabricators is focused on your project’s success, from start to finish.
We make use of overhead cranes, fully automated subarc gantries, CNC burning and drilling equipment and other specialized or custom built equipment. Proper project coordination and efficient delivery of the structural steel to your bridge project is a key factor in our ultimate success. This is what gives us the leading edge. We also stock a large quantity of various sizes of steel plate to turn projects around quickly.
With our specialized equipment and experience, Rapid-Span is not only a leader in the industry for steel fabrication for bridges, our facility is also well-suited to fabricate other structural steel products such as heavy plate work, fabricated custom beams, and more.
Precast Fabrication
Rapid-Span’s CPCI certified precast plant is continuously producing precast concrete products for the infrastructure market. Our extensive experience and history in the bridge industry allows us to manufacture either whole bridge systems or components.
Our modern manufacturing facility utilizes heated beds and steam generators for efficient production and curing, and its close proximity to major highways and rail provide for cost effective transportation. Since our inception, the precast division has continually expanded, adding new products and entering new markets.
