| Location: | Pitt Meadows, B.C. |
| Length: | 540m |
| About: |
Replacing two aging swing bridges on the congested Lougheed Highway required constructing a new seven-lane lifeline structure within a restricted right-of-way while maintaining flow for 88,000 daily vehicles. In partnership, Rapid-Span and Canam JV fabricated the 2,600-ton steel superstructure, including 117 main girders, specialized bearings, and advanced finger expansion joints. These components were engineered to meet extreme seismic standards and dynamic cable-stayed movements. This critical gateway eliminated chronic bottlenecks, significantly improving regional commute times and goods movement. |
