78th Street Underpass

The new 78th Street Interchange on Highway 99 in Delta improves access to the Parkwood Industrial Estates development and required a new overpass across one of the Lower Mainland’s busiest highway corridors. Rapid-Span supplied both the structural steel girders and the precast concrete deck panels for the structure, combining steel and precast scopes from a single supplier. Girders were set during overnight closures of Highway 99 to minimize traffic impacts. Once complete, the interchange will relieve congestion at the Matthews Interchange and improve access for residents and businesses.
