Latta Bridge Replacement

Replacing the 1936 Latta Bridge on Jasper Avenue required a new crossing over the Latta Ravine on a route carrying around 20,000 vehicles per day in central Edmonton. Rapid-Span fabricated the structural steel for the new 55.6-meter CL-800 composite bridge, including 14 plate girders, diaphragms and lateral bracing, with a protective coating system at the girder ends over the abutments. Our in-house detailing and controlled shop fabrication delivered components ready for efficient erection. Reopened in fall 2023, the new bridge provides a durable crossing with a shared-use path for the community.
